It feels as if the problems the manufacturers had during the pandemic years are starting to resolve. When we order things now, most of it is in stock and can be shipped straight away. Veritas/Lee Valley are starting to get full stocks again and we are now expecting two large deliveries over the next two months; we got a smaller restock from Lie-Nielsen at the beginning of the week. It is rather fun that an email comes from them that basically says: we have this, this and this to send to you tomorrow, do you want them? And we always do, so now our stock is also starting to become a picking stock, that is, there are products at home so we can ship when you order, without them constantly running out. Now we just want a few more varieties of the planes and the other tools. But the big sellers are at home, Lie-Nielsen.
Another very fun piece of news is that we are now a reseller of JessEm from Canada. They are a manufacturer of accessories for router tables and table saws. They have always been innovative with several very popular products; we have started putting up several of them (JessEm) and will get deliveries throughout the autumn. If you are interested in a particular product, register your interest on it so we have some idea which ones to bring in first. JessEm has existed for over 25 years and is best known for having made the "first" router lift. They now have several different products and have come out with several updates on older tools.
We already have one JessEm product in stock, and have had it for several years, and that is their router lift, but we got that via Incra. Since we will now get them directly from JessEm, we thought we would run a little campaign on the ones we have at home. This becomes the first campaign where we make use of our customer club. As we have written before, you become a member of the customer club if you create an account in the shop. If you are then logged in when you shop, you get some benefits. You get a shipping discount and free shipping above a certain sum. You can go in and see your previous orders, and so on. Another part is that there are three levels of membership, and it is based on being more loyal as a customer, so you move up in membership. At certain thresholds you jump up a level. And it is based on orders placed over 2 years. So depending on which level you are at, you have a special price on this router lift. Incra Mast-R-Lift II
We try to make it as easy as possible to shop from us, but you sometimes become a bit blind to your own home and can think that a function is as easy and smooth as can be, while customers don't understand it at all, and then you learn better and now it has been done in yet another case. At checkout there are now more help texts on what the different choices for shipping and payment really mean, and I hope that this means there will be no more misunderstandings. Unfortunately we sometimes don't know what the customer means if they have chosen something at checkout that perhaps wasn't what should have been chosen, and then the order ends up a bit behind the others and is not sent until we have clarity on what was meant. So if you make a choice other than what should be the normal one, feel free to write a line too much in the message so we understand what applies. In mid-October we will get diamond stones from M-Power in again. It was a while ago, but now we are restocking with their whole range of sharpening stones. Among other things their new sharpening station is coming. You know we like smaller manufacturers that try to provide high quality at good prices.
