With a Beall wood threader you can cut threads in wood using your router, for example to make wooden screws for clamps, presses and vice screws. The router is clamped to a table with a threaded insert, and the dowel is turned through the insert past the bit to cut an external thread. Internal threads are cut with matching taps.

The solid carbide bit never needs sharpening or adjusting and will cut thousands of threads. The precision-machined threaded insert is interchangeable for size, and an aluminium centring sleeve locates the bit accurately for fast set-up.

The taps have removable pilots and can cut a full thread to within 7/16" (11 mm) of the bottom of a hole, so no separate bottoming tap is needed. Larger taps have four flutes so chips clear easily. Right-hand threads are available in six sizes: 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2".
