Sliding bevel and protractor
The miter gauge is an adjustable measuring tool for determining an angle or transferring angles from a drawing or between different workpieces. The miter gauge is used in all kinds of carpentry for miter angles or sinking, as well as work where angles are transferred from one workpiece to another or from a drawing to a workpiece. The miter angle steel ruler locks and on better tools should really lock, it is no fun if the angle "sneaks away" and becomes wrong! To check the angle, use a protractor to read the angle. A protractor usually has a semicircle with the degrees and a ruler that can be locked at the right angle.
The word "smygvinkel" is fairly new in the Swedish language, it is documented since 1879
