Lie-Nielsen Toolworks was founded in 1981 by Thomas Lie-Nielsen in Warren, Maine. The tools are based on classic designs, mainly Stanley planes, but are made in heavier materials such as bronze and ductile iron with thicker blades, for tools that work straight out of the box and last a lifetime.

The shop carries Lie-Nielsen bench planes, smoothing planes, jack planes, block planes, special planes, chisels, screwdrivers and honing guides.
