You are not always what you are called; in the languages that use 'rubank' it is a longer hand plane, but why shouldn't you be a little mischievous and do something different. We started with hand tools, that's right, but quite quickly we got the chance to sell the Trend UK range. They are a bit anonymous in Sweden and mainland Europe. But in Great Britain they are very well known and are found in every hardware shop. They have a broad range for tradespeople who, for example, install things on site in properties. We have a smaller range of their products at home; we have focused on the handheld routers with accessories. For a year or so now they have upgraded their machines and now have a broad range, from the smaller trim router T1EPS/Euro to the biggest workhorse T14EK/EURO.

If you want your handheld router in a table there are several choices; we have made a new category where we have collected the routers and their accessories (tables, lifts etc.). (routing). There are also links to which router lifts or tables each machine fits. A fun thing we noticed when we got the T1EPS/Euro home last week is that it fits perfectly in Incra's router lift. You set the retainers so they are as small as possible and then the router sits like a hand in a glove.

So if you do smaller jobs, where the 710W motor is enough or an 8mm shank is sufficient, this is a very good package. If you need more power we also have the big 1.5hp motor from JessEm. It also works brilliantly in the Incra lift. You set the retainers to get the largest hole and the machine just fits.

But of course it doesn't end there. If you also want to be able to use your handheld router freely, it is better to have one you can take out. There are good alternatives there too. If you want to build a table yourself and don't want to spend money on a router lift, the T14EK/Euro is perfect, as it has a built-in router lift in its base plate. If you then use a router plate that has an extra hole for it, you have a simple router lift.

This is a little less precise, as the thread on the router is coarser. If you want maximum control, a router lift is what you need, and we have that too for handheld routers. From JessEm and Kreg there are models that have mounting points for Trend's routers.

Since you then have a lift, you don't need the one built into the T14EK/Euro, so you can choose the little brother T12EK/Euro instead. It is the same machine, but without the built-in lift. The router with either lift makes a very good station. Then you need a fence, and you can choose a loose one or a complete router table. There is a lot to choose between. We have the somewhat simpler router tables from Trend and Kreg. They are perfect if space is a bit tight and you perhaps don't work with them much. If you choose Trend's version, it has the plate for the T14EK/Euro, so together with that router it is a complete set. If you want to use one of the router lifts we have, choose the Kreg table, as the hole in the table is the same size as the router lifts.

Trend's plate is a little larger so it doesn't fit the tables from Kreg, Incra and the tables we will get from JessEm. Worth knowing. If you build a table yourself there are fences from Incra, JessEm and Kreg. This is Incra's stand-alone fence.

If you have the router in the middle of a workbench, Incra's LS is perfect. It can be placed wherever you like and is slidable, and together with the router fence you have a really good fence. And it can be used with your table saw if you want.

If you have, for example, an MFT table, or a similar 96mm system where you have drilled holes for bench dogs, we have a plate from Benchdogs UK that you fit under your LS and can place it wherever you like on the table.

Here is a film showing how you can do it with your Incra LS, and the person goes from an MFT table to a self-built one. Watch the video on YouTube As a last thing, you mustn't forget T-tracks and miter channels. I think we have the broadest range of these, Veritas, Incra and Kreg. As well as all the accessories that fit the tracks. Here, for example, is a new T-track from Veritas that we will get soon. You rout it into your table/jig. Otherwise you can say that whatever you choose, keep to the accessories made for that track, as T-tracks are not a standard, everyone has their own sizes.

But I almost forgot: if you like 96mm rows of holes, you mustn't miss Benchdogs UK! We have just received a new delivery with lots of fun accessories. For example the Quad Hinge System. We are updating the website with even more Benchdogs UK products; we got a pallet with different things, but they need to be sorted and labelled before we can start selling them, but over the next few weeks we will post these. The next delivery from Benchdogs UK will be their smaller products, Quad Dogs and the others..

A few links to what we have written about: T-tracks and accessories: T-tracks and accessories MFT table and accessories: MFT accessories Kitchen installation: kitchen and cabinet solutions Accessories for router and saw: router tables and plates I am quite forgetful; I had one more thing. I am also working on a little project and it has moved a little bit forward. Now the Incra LS-32 sits on the old Emco combined saw and router machine. It runs so nicely on its shiny rails. More updates will come; after the picture was taken I fitted the router fence that attaches to the saw fence. The picture is earlier in the newsletter. The Miter Channel at the front is to be shortened a bit and fixed on each side of the table so you can use a mitre fence and possibly a sled. The slot in the table is only 15mm so it can't be used.

And YES, there is a riving knife, it is just removed at the moment. The machine isn't connected, there is no 3-phase where it stands right now, so it can't be started..
