A simple packing box? Actually a pleasant woodworking project, or interesting reading for the armchair woodworker.
The book "The Joiner and Cabinet Maker" tells the story of a joiner's apprentice and describes a series of projects that build the reader's skills step by step. The first project is a packing box which, in the book, is sawn, planed, glued and nailed together, using hand tools and cut nails. It continues with a box for storing school books and finishes with a small chest of drawers. A very enjoyable book and interesting reading from both a historical and a woodworking perspective. For anyone wondering which tools are used, they are described in the book too. There is a short video about the packing box here: Watch the video on Vimeo
