A classic Swedish radio commentary from the 1936 Olympics, and it fits our Japanese saws rather well right now: the shelves are well stocked. We now have 15 models from two manufacturers, both of which delivered to us in January. As usual, you will find them here: Japanese saws
We also have two Japanese saws from Bahco: Bahco saws. They are also made in Japan. A large part of Veritas's regular backsaws are made in Japan too, and we have just restocked two models, so we now have all their saws in stock. Veritas hand saws
Various kinds of T-track and accessories are a big part of our range. We now have 3 manufacturers, 4 if we count what we can get from Trend. The different types from Incra, Veritas and Kreg are very popular. For a long time we have tried to solve some small problems with using accessories from one manufacturer on another's products, such as using Veritas accessories in Incra tracks. Although the tracks are broadly similar, they differ slightly in shape, so you need to solve the problem of the part that runs inside the slot.
We have now solved it! It isn't much to look at, but oh so important.
There are three versions: 1/4-20 for Incra/Kreg, M5 for Incra/Kreg and M6 for Veritas.
With these you can now use ordinary M5 and M6 bolts in your tracks. You can also use Veritas accessories with 1/4-20 threads in Incra tracks, but their fittings don't fit Incra/Kreg; they are too wide. T-tracks and accessories are here: T-tracks, rails and accessories. A standard M8 bolt also works in the wide Veritas T-track, so there you don't need these nuts.
It has been more than a month since we last wrote, not because we had nothing to write about, but because we simply haven't had time. January has continued just like November and December: flat out, you could say. We know it may feel like we are repeating ourselves, but we are incredibly grateful that so many of you want to shop with us. More than 3,400 of you bought something at least once last year, and many bought several times, so we sent out almost 4,000 orders.
We keep going despite this strange world. We are trying to coax out deliveries and find new products to fill our shelves so you have things to buy. We hear from our manufacturers that last year's Christmas trade was something quite special. All their stocks are empty and they are working very hard to fill them again, which unfortunately means extra-long lead times right now. We ask them to send smaller deliveries of whatever they have ready, and they try to do so. That is the advantage and strength of buying directly from the manufacturers, rather than through someone else selling the same things or a wholesaler.
Veritas is doing exactly this: they send about half the normal quantity, but it means we actually get things in.
You will find these and lots of other updated products here: new products
Besides Veritas and the Japanese saws, there is Sjöbergs, York, Fisch, Lost Art Press and others that have arrived recently.
We finish by revealing the answer to the Christmas crossword in the last newsletter. It seems it was a little too hard, so we will make it easier next time. Take it easy, and we will be in touch again soon; a lot is happening now, and we really want to tell you as soon as things are ready.
The word we were looking for was "RUBANK".
