If you want to make MFT holes in your workbench, there are several ways to do it. You can use various jigs, measure them out or make them freehand, depending on how you want it to look. We have tried several methods and think the MFT jig from Trend does the job simply and effectively.
Using your plunge router is a smart choice: it is a stable machine built to be pressed down into a piece of wood. Use any plunge router, a 20 mm cutter and a 30 mm guide bush, and you get an exact 96 mm hole pattern (MFT). Then use any of our accessories for 20 mm holes and you are ready to work.

Right now a pallet is on its way to us from the town of Dubuque, Iowa, USA, filled with the very popular clamps from Dubuque Clamp Works. We are getting a good pile of all three lengths: 600, 900 and 1200 mm.

PS. Don't miss the other clever "clamps" from the same maker. More about them in a later newsletter.
As we mentioned earlier on our Facebook page, several pallets of Ehoma clamps arrived, in sizes from 30 to 150 cm. We also have accessories for these clamps, which also fit clamps of the same model sold under other company names.

A few other things happening, a bit of gossip, if you like that sort of thing, and of course you do. We have large orders in with most of our suppliers, including Veritas, Incra, Narex, York and Lie-Nielsen, and they should start delivering in October. However, they have all said their lead times have become much longer; the whole industry has seen an incredible increase in demand this year, especially after the summer. They are working hard to keep production up so that we can offer you the best products available. Even so, some products may unfortunately have longer delivery times, and now that the pandemic is growing in Europe they may get longer still. We are keeping our fingers crossed for everyone.
We are continuing to work on the "shop". Next we will sort out our clothing from Le Laboureur. We have large quantities of clothes to count and put on the shelves. If you are interested in a particular model, they will soon be online with better pictures and shown as in stock.
We have also stocktaken several of our manufacturers and updated the website. This means that those of you who chose to get an email when a product was back in stock may have found it sold out again when you looked in. That is because we only had a few, but we thought it was better to make them available to order than to leave them on the shelf until we get a larger quantity. We are sorry if it felt like you missed out on the goodies; that was certainly not our intention.
We are also working under the bonnet of the website. Among other things, you now get shipping prices for larger, heavier items such as the workbenches from Sjöbergs. We have added DHL Home Delivery at checkout. If you have a workbench in your basket, an extra shipping charge appears for home delivery of the bench. If you also have other products in your basket that can go via Service Point, their usual shipping is shown too, and they are combined into a total. We hope this makes it a little easier to see the total cost of what you are interested in.
In the video above, a Veritas quick-release front vise is installed. It is in stock for immediate delivery. Veritas Quick-Release Front Vise
One last thing!
Since we wrote about making your own MFT table, and that a plunge router is the best way to do it, it is only fair that we show you one: the Trend T7, Trend's newest plunge router. It is 2100 W, takes collets up to 1/2", and all of Trend's accessories fit.
