We now have three Veritas spokeshaves in our range: the flat spokeshave, the round spokeshave and the concave spokeshave. Which one you choose depends on what you will use it for. They differ from older types in being sturdier and having thicker blades, which reduces chatter and gives a very good result without much effort.
A spokeshave is a plane with a very short sole and handles on either side. It is used for shaping work, for example in hollows and curves. In Swedish it is called spånhyvel or spockskiva, and in some dialects lappskava or spockskäv.
