I bought some backsaws a while ago that I plan to restore and use, among them one from M. Skulnick & Son Limited, a saw maker completely unknown to me. I started by taking the saw apart and cleaning up all the brass screws and the back.
I sanded the handle with 240-grit paper to clean off the old finish and the obligatory paint splashes.
So far so good. Now I just need to learn how to sharpen and set the saw. More to come!
If you want a new saw and to start sawing right away, there are, among others, the backsaws from Wenzloff.
