In our latest newsletter we asked for pictures and stories about life in your workshops. It is always fun to see what you are making. Get in touch and tell us.
One project Patrik sent us is a cot he built for his son.
Hi,
I saw in the newsletter that you wanted some pictures of our projects. When we were expecting our first child, I fitted out the garage as a hobby workshop and started building a cot. It was my first fine woodworking project, and of course I had to make it extra hard for myself with bent wood. Back then I hadn't heard of SketchUp, and the drawings were made with pencil and paper. For the corners I used an old chocolate-cake tin as a template. A lot of patience and many attempts later, I managed to get the parts right, and after assembly it was time for my wife to paint it a suitable dark grey for the nursery.
Luckily Tage, as our son is called, has always loved sleeping in it. We have learned that is not something to take for granted with small children.
We can really see that Tage is happy in his bed. We think it turned out really nice! It is just a shame children grow so fast that they can't keep the bed "for life".
