Milk paint is a type of paint that has been used for centuries, usually made locally on the farm or by the painter himself. Today it comes ready-packaged. You can find some of its history from building conservation societies and similar sources.
We work with The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co., Inc., a company that has made milk paint since 1974. They are based in the USA and started making paint to meet their own needs when restoring furniture. Milk paint is popular in the USA and is widely used for furniture restoration, interior painting and more. Shaker furniture, for example, is often painted with this type of paint.
We stock a wide range of colours to choose from, as well as an untinted base so you can mix in your own pigments.
