To cope with all the different species of wood you might want to work, you may need to try other bevel angles on your plane blades. You can either hone a new secondary bevel or buy a separate blade that already has a different bevel angle. We currently have two alternative blades for our block planes and two that fit our bevel-up jack and jointer planes. Both come in either A2 or O1 steel. You will find them among the Veritas replacement blades.
