Can the Veritas Low-Angle Jack plane be used on a shooting board?
Yes, the Veritas Low-Angle Jack plane works very well on a shooting board. Veritas themselves recommend it if you do not want to buy their dedicated shooting plane.
To set it up better for shooting, consider an extra blade for shooting board use, with a 38 or 50 degree bevel, which is better suited to planing end grain. That way you can keep the standard blade for general planing.
