  • Books from Lost Art Press

Lost Art Press LLC was founded in 2007 by two enthusiastic woodworkers, John Hoffman and Christopher Schwarz, while attending a Lie-Nielsen Toolworks Open House in Warren, Maine.

The company started with a question: What happened to all the great woodworking books that used to be published? The books that changed the course of the craft and people’s lives. The books that explored our ever diminishing link to the handwork of previous centuries.

  • Building descriptions

All drawings and descriptions have imperial (not metric) measurements and texts are in English unless otherwise stated.

  • Antiquarian bookshop

Most of the books here are only available in single editions, first come, first served. When they are sold, they are probably gone. Can be both in Swedish and other language. These books are no longer in print in new editions, including new and second-hand books. Books that we find at publishers or books that we receive several copies of from submitting customers, which we sell to be able to buy more books for our library.

  • Library

It is important that the old techniques do not fall into oblivion and that there is a possibility to search for information about them. Rubank Verktygs wants to be a place where knowledge is available, via tools of the highest quality and the written word in old and new books. We take it upon ourselves to collect the knowledge in our library where we want to collect as much as we can.

We are happy to receive books in crafts, carpentry, handicrafts and other similar subjects. If you want to donate or sell your books to us, you are welcome to do so, if you live outside Stockholm and can't come here, we will solve the shipping. Books are best packed in "banana boxes" unless you have smaller boxes. Moving boxes are too heavy. If we get more books of the same title that we already have, we reserve the right to sell them via our "One time books" page and use the money to buy more old books.

These books are Rubank Tools' reference library. You are welcome to come and read them on site.

  • Games and crafts

There are games and crafts made of wood.
