About Hock
Ron Hock has been making tools since 1981. He started with knives but was persuaded by students at James Krenov's woodworking school in Fort Bragg to make plane irons, and since then it has mostly been woodworking tools.
Hock blades are thicker than the original blades and suit anyone restoring an older plane who wants to upgrade it. Check the blade width, and that the mouth is large enough for a thicker blade. Ron Hock has also written The Perfect Edge, a book on sharpening edge tools.
