We are really pleased to introduce a few more manufacturers we are starting to sell. Some are already in the shop and we have received the deliveries, for example the French maker Arno with its small double sharpener. We have also started receiving Fisch Tools products, several kinds of really high-quality drill bits in both metric and imperial sizes. We will list them as they arrive. The deliveries will come in December and January. You will find them here: Fisch Tools. But the biggest of the newcomers is Kreg Tool. We will carry their whole range, and the first delivery arrives shortly. We have listed what is coming here: Kreg. The first delivery is T-track and similar items, followed by their pocket-hole jigs and accessories for fastening, router and bearings. Together with Veritas and Incra, we probably now have Sweden's widest range of T-track, accessories for it and products that use it. Kreg broadens this further, as their products have a slightly different focus. More T-track news is coming over the winter. As soon as we know the deliveries are ready and on their way, we will tell you more.
We are negotiating with more manufacturers that we hope to tell you about soon. Among them are products we know are much sought after.
Veritas has just released a little beauty the size of a block plane. It will come to us as soon as possible. Veritas calls it the Veritas Bevel-Up No. 1 Plane, and it has a PM-V11 blade.
We have seen an incredible increase in orders and are humbly grateful to all of you who have shopped with us this year. What we now ship after a weekend matches what we used to ship in one or two weeks, and it has just kept growing. We are working hard to restock and at the same time widen the range, so there will be even more interesting things for you to find. We search for products ourselves, follow what our manufacturers are developing, and get lots of tips from you about products you have found and think would suit our range.
Our goal is still to ship every order no later than the day after it is placed, and we mostly manage it. (If anyone remembers, we joked a while ago that DHL thought it was getting to be a lot every day; we have now several times had to hand over parcels in a cage instead of on a hand truck.) But the large number of orders has also meant that some of you have had to wait a little longer, and that is no fun. We are looking for bottlenecks and working on new routines so that things flow better. One thing you can help us with is checking that your address is correct. Because we book shipping by street address, so that you get your nearest service point or home delivery, it is important that it is as "correct" as possible. For example, if you live at 'Storgatan 5b' in Town A, write "Storgatan 5b", not "Storgatan 5 B", otherwise the system looks for the street in 'Town B'. If you want to collect your parcel at a different service point, write a comment at checkout saying which one and where it is, and we will switch to it.
We are also continuing to improve the online shop for you. For example, we have changed the checkout a little. Besides Swish (which more than half of you use), we have card and invoice. We have also added another payment option, which for now we call "Pay on delivery" for want of a better name. It is really exactly the same as the other two, except that you pay for your order when we are ready to ship it. We then send you a link where you get the same payment options as the first time, Swish and card/invoice. When we see that payment has been made, we ship the order. This means your orders will take longer to reach you, but the main idea is that if there are problems with the other two options when placing your order, you can choose this one and still get the order through. It is also used for customers with special agreements, such as schools and companies. Just a reminder that it is important that the email address you use with us is correct, as the link is sent there and we have no way of seeing whether it arrives. The same applies if you choose invoice: invoices are now sent by email and go out as soon as we ship the order.
1. Once you have placed your order and payment has gone through, you get a confirmation by email. It contains information about the order and a PDF receipt.
2. When we are ready to start packing the order, you get an email with the tracking number from us, plus an email from Unifaun, the service we use to book shipping. Any tracking apps you use will also notify you at this point.
3. When the parcel is completely ready to ship, a final email arrives. This is also when we send invoices and "receive" the money from card payments; until then it is only reserved for us. It is also when we send the link to those who chose "pay on delivery".
Many of you also ask why we don't offer PostNord as a shipping option. The main reason is that they don't have daily collection in our area. We have talked to PostNord, and a "PostNord light" version may come in the future. We have also talked to other carriers so that you have as many options as possible. Time will tell how it turns out.
One book we are very curious about is 'James Krenov: Leave Fingerprints'. It is printed and ready to ship. We hope to receive it very soon, so it could be this year's Christmas book. It has a lot of information from Krenov's time in Sweden. James Krenov: Leave Fingerprints
As usual, you are welcome to comment on this newsletter, good or bad; we read and take everything on board. Just get in touch. We will try to send one more newsletter before Christmas. Until then, take care and see you soon.
