It was actually my plan to send this out back on 23 December, then in time for New Year's Eve and again now for Epiphany, but each time plans changed because of illness. But now I am trying again – never give up. The plan over the holidays was to send out orders at least once a week, but that fell apart badly. Instead I was in for half days last week trying to get two weeks of orders out (about 100). But it worked: most of you have received your order, or will tomorrow, since Friday last week was a public holiday. I am still a bit hoarse and tired, so this week will also be at half speed. We are trying to keep the same opening hours as in the autumn, but please contact us for the latest information on when the shop is open.
2022 is now over, the books are to be closed and a new year begins. 2022 was a good year; you have continued to shop as you have in recent years. It came to just over 3,600 orders from about 2,600 customers. Many of you placed 2, 3, 4 or even more orders during the year, and we are grateful to each and every one of you who ordered from us – thank you!
As we have written before, we are here for you. You are the reason we are needed, and we would love to hear what you think of us – the good and the bad, what could be better and what works well. How does the shop work? For those of you who visit the store, what works and what doesn't? Payments, deliveries and any returns. We want to hear everything you have to tell us. You can reply to this email or use "contact us" on the website. If we get suggestions for changes, we will look at them right away and see whether we can make them as soon as possible.
The first Veritas delivery of the year arrives in January, with a little of everything to fill the shelves. One novelty is the Panel Gauge from Lee Valley. Otherwise there will be more planes, marking gauges, blades, mallets and other products. As usual we update the website when we get the delivery details, and release the products once we know they have landed in Europe. Before adding the roughly 70 products on their way, we now have 601 Veritas/Lee Valley products in the shop, 435 of them in stock for immediate delivery.
Between Christmas and New Year we received a pallet of planes from Clifton. So if you want a classic Bedrock-pattern plane, we have the #3, #4, #4 1/2, #5, #5 1/2 and #7 in stock, as well as a few different shoulder planes and spokeshaves.

We have been in contact with manufacturers whose products have been hard to find on the Swedish market. We get many suggestions from you to check whether we could start selling a certain maker or type of product, and we always contact them to see whether their products could be sold in Sweden. Some have not been able to take on more resellers right now (a common answer during the pandemic); others think it is great that we want to sell their things to you. As always, the contact is directly with the manufacturer, not via other resellers or wholesalers. We hope some of these will be settled by the next newsletter so we can tell you about them then.
Flexcut has updated some of their multi-blade pocket knives to a 2.0 version, with new blade configurations and a body of so-called "aircraft aluminium", making them even more stable and comfortable to hold and work with. So far 4 of the 7 knives have been updated. We have all the versions in stock.

I thought I would end with a short film. It shows some products we carry that many of you may have missed: from Japanese Shinwa we have 7 different spirit levels, from 100 mm to 900 mm, analogue and digital.
