This kit contains everything you need to shape and sharpen all your turning tools: two patented jigs that work like three, a profiled leather honing wheel, a comprehensive instruction, the popular Turning Tool Setter and the Tormek Case to store your jigs.
The jigs are packed in the TC-800 Tormek Case with the included TNT-00 storage tray. The case keeps your jigs and accessories organized and is easy to carry thanks to the premium leather handle. It is made of high-quality materials with a sliding lid that keeps everything in place.
The jigs are usually not included with the machine; you choose them by the tools you want to sharpen. All jigs fit both the T-4 and the T-8:
SE-77 – chisels and plane blades with a straight or slightly cambered edge
KJ-45 and KJ-140 – centring knife jigs for symmetrical bevels
SVD-186R – turning gouges, carving gouges and V-tools
SVS-50 – skew chisels, parting tools and carving tools
AX-40 – axes
SVX-150 and SC-60 – scissors
SVH-320 – planer blades
DBS-22 – twist drills 3–22 mm
The HTK-906 and TNT-808 kits collect the most common jigs for hand tools and woodturning respectively.
There are several good ways to sharpen chisels and plane irons: water stones, diamond stones, oil stones and sharpening machines such as Tormek. All give sharp edges, but they differ in speed, maintenance and price.
