Storage box for the Stanley No. 45 combination plane. Manufactured from 1884 to 1962, the plane is still widely used, mainly because its interchangeable blades allow grooving, rabbeting, dadoing, tongue and groove work, mouldings, nosing, reeding and fluting.
Storage box for the Stanley No. 45 combination plane. Manufactured from 1884 to 1962, the plane is still widely used, mainly because its interchangeable blades allow grooving, rabbeting, dadoing, tongue and groove work, mouldings, nosing, reeding and fluting. Far fewer of the original boxes have survived. This case holds the plane and a full set of blades and accessories, keeping everything organised, accessible and portable.
It is made from sturdy 9 mm Baltic birch plywood with precisely milled dado joints and a clear acrylic sliding lid. The plane sits in the main compartment, with slotted rails along the walls for a full set of standard straight, beading, match and sash blades, while a shelf holds the fence, guide rods and cam rests.
Measures 8" × 12" × 8" tall. Made in Canada. Assembly hardware included. Several other makers produced blades for the No. 45 that don't match the original Stanley sizes, so instructions are included for modifying the blade slots without damaging the box.
This product is restocked on an ongoing basis.
