Lie Nielsen No. 49 1/2 Small Tongue and Groove Plane

This tool cuts a groove with one side of the cutter exposed. Swing the fence to expose both sides to cut the tongue. The slot in the one-piece blade registers on the milled body casting, to ensure squareness and equal depth of cut on both sides. Since this is a heavy stock removal tool, no fine depth adjuster is needed. The No. 48 Tongue and Groove Plane is made to center on 3/4" stock. Tongue and groove will be offset on thinner or thicker stock. The No. 48 will cut a .25" wide tongue and .3125" deep grooves. The No. 49, a companion Tongue and Groove Plane, is made to center on 1/2" stock. It will cut a .166" wide tongue and .230" deep grooves.
