Optimized for material 1/2" and thinner, this saw is designed for fine joinery. The teeth are set at 0.003" per side and filed with a 15° rake and a 60° included angle. They also have alternating 15° bevels that act as small knives to sever the wood fibers. This geometry gives a fluid starting cut followed by a smooth, accurate cut with almost no tear-out.
The blade is high-carbon steel. The molded spine incorporates stainless-steel powder for weight, glass fiber for stiffness and an advanced polymer resin binder. The open-grip hardwood handle is comfortable in any hand, even small ones. Patented. Made in Canada.

Which handsaw to choose depends on the tooth pattern and the number of teeth per inch (tpi). Rip teeth cut along the grain and crosscut teeth across it. Few teeth give fast but rough cuts, and many teeth give slower, cleaner cuts.
Backsaws such as tenon saws and dovetail saws are used for precise joinery. The guide covers tooth patterns, sharpening and choosing a saw.
