Veritas Shooting Grip

Inspired by the side-mounted horn found on antique Scottish miter planes, this Veritas grip offers a comfortable handhold when using a plane on its side.

The torrefied maple horn lets you push a plane with the web of your thumb while holding it tight to the workpiece with your fingers, leaving your other hand free to hold the workpiece.

It can be mounted on the left or right side of all Veritas custom bevel-down bench planes as well as the Veritas jack rabbet plane, in the same tapped holes as the adjustable fence, with a pair of stainless-steel screws. Slotted holes in the milled aluminum base plate allow you to adjust the horn forward or backward to suit the plane and for comfort.
