Thomas Flinn one man crosscut saw, 4 ft (1219 mm), with Great American tooth pattern. Large saws used mostly in forestry and for crosscutting large logs, but in recent years also bought by people cutting their own firewood. They are a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to a chainsaw and can be used by anyone. The saw has a clear-finished beech handle and comes with an auxiliary handle that can be fitted to the front of the blade so a second person can help pull. The handle can also be fitted on top of the blade to help you push the saw when cutting alone.

The Great American tooth pattern means each tooth both cuts the wood and clears the shavings, and the gullets clear the waste while cutting.

Sharpen the saw with the large file, available separately; saw sets are too small for teeth of this size. Choose a saw twice as long as the diameter of the wood you want to cut, so you get a long enough stroke.

Facts:
Blade length 4 ft (1219 mm)
Great American tooth pattern for logs and heavy timber
Beech handle plus auxiliary handle for two-person use
Can be resharpened with a large file

Saw type: One-man crosscut saw

Products that make the parcel longer than 120 cm count as bulky and carry an extra shipping fee:

119 SEK excl. VAT within Sweden (DHL Service Point)
135 SEK excl. VAT with DHL Parcel Connect to other countries

This applies to, for example, long saws, planes, rules and clamps. The product information states if bulky shipping applies.

Which handsaw to choose depends on the tooth pattern and the number of teeth per inch (tpi). Rip teeth cut along the grain and crosscut teeth across it. Few teeth give fast but rough cuts, and many teeth give slower, cleaner cuts.

Backsaws such as tenon saws and dovetail saws are used for precise joinery. The guide covers tooth patterns, sharpening and choosing a saw.
