Thomas Flinn two man crosscut saw, 5 ft (1,524 mm), with peg tooth pattern. Large saws used mostly in forestry and for crosscutting large logs, but in recent years also bought by people cutting their own firewood. They are a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to a chainsaw and can be used by anyone.
The teeth cut in both directions, so the saw cuts as each of the two users pulls. The saw comes complete with two beech handles and fittings to attach them to the blade.
Sharpen the saw with the large file, available separately; saw sets are too small for teeth of this size. Choose a saw twice as long as the diameter of the wood you want to cut, so you get a long enough stroke.

At the moment we do not charge any extra fee for bulky shipping. You always see the total shipping cost in the cart before you confirm the order.
Which handsaw to choose depends on the tooth pattern and the number of teeth per inch (tpi). Rip teeth cut along the grain and crosscut teeth across it. Few teeth give fast but rough cuts, and many teeth give slower, cleaner cuts.
Backsaws such as tenon saws and dovetail saws are used for precise joinery. The guide covers tooth patterns, sharpening and choosing a saw.
