Pax 1776 Dovetail Saw, 8", 20 tpi, Rip. The Pax 1776 saw is Thomas Flinn's finest saw and the PAX flagship.
The Pax 1776 saw is Thomas Flinn's finest saw and the PAX flagship. Made with a heavily folded brass back roll-marked "Pax 1776 Sheffield England", it is made as a celebration piece commemorating the start of Pax saws, made today to the same high standards as two hundred years ago. The folded brass back holds the blade under tension, offering excellent rigidity and balance, and the weight of the back aids the fine cutting ability of the saw. The traditional open handle is made from walnut with a solid brass split nut and medallion, hand finished with Danish oil for comfort and grip. All saws are tested before despatch.
This saw: 8" blade, 2" blade depth, 20 tpi, rip (for cutting with the grain). The Pax 1776 is also available in 10" and 12" lengths and in crosscut.
