Yielding an effective cutting angle of 37° to minimize fiber tearing, the 25° bevel replacement blade for the Veritas small bevel-up smooth plane is 1/8" thick, lapped, and available in A2, O1 or PM-V11 tool steel. For working difficult grain, optional 38° and 50° bevel blades, as well as a toothed A2 blade, are also available.
