These Canadian-made precision steel straightedges are ground flat over the entire length on both edges and stress relieved to remain true under temperature variation. Useful for checking whether surfaces are flat or straight, they are 1-1/2" high and their width allows them to stand on edge unsupported, leaving both hands free for precise measurement or tool adjustment. They have hang holes for storage on a nail or hook.
Flat to within 0.0015". An invaluable aid for machine set-up, it is a good size for setting up stationary machines such as planers and jointers. At slightly more than 2 lb (0.91 kg), it weighs enough to stay in place while you make adjustments. 1/4" thick.

Our straightedges should be straight within a very small tolerance, which is plenty for most woodworking tasks such as checking planed surfaces and plane soles.
If you need an even tighter tolerance, there are more expensive straightedges available, but that is reflected in the price.
If you suspect your straightedge is not straight, feel free to contact us or drop by the shop and we will take a look at it.
Products that make the parcel longer than 120 cm count as bulky, for example long saws, planes, rules and clamps. Such parcels sometimes need special handling by the carriers.
At the moment we do not charge any extra fee for bulky shipping. You always see the total shipping cost in the cart before you confirm the order.
