Set of three Veritas Snug-Plug cutters in imperial sizes: 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2". It is always difficult to fit plugs perfectly; any slight runout in your drill-press quill can make holes oversize, and the same runout makes plugs undersize. Together they give ill-fitting plugs that are very noticeable in finished work.
Snug-Plug cutters cut slightly tapered plugs: the first 1/8" is the stated size, then the plug flares out at a 3° included angle. Unlike regular plug cutters, they also shave the plug sides as they cut, producing very smooth plugs. Tap a plug into a hole until you meet resistance and cut off the excess, and you have a perfect fit with a nearly invisible line between plug and workpiece.
The cutters are carefully reamed after hardening for perfect concentricity. 3/8" shank. Patented. Resharpening instructions included.
