Smalls: 18 Well-designed, Easy Projects for an Afternoon in the Workshop from Lost Art Press. This pocket book offers 18 projects that make good use of all those little pieces of wood too good to throw away but too small for full-size furniture. Each project includes a photo of the finished piece, a short explanation of the steps, a cutting list and complete construction drawings, including scaled and full-size drawings of the decorative parts.

Chapters on technique basics mean that even if you are new to woodworking, you'll learn to cut rabbets, dados and grooves, use cut nails, fair curves and more. The book was created by the Lost Art Press editorial staff: Megan Fitzpatrick wrote the technique chapters, Christopher Schwarz made the drawings, and the projects were built by Megan Fitzpatrick, Christopher Schwarz, Katherine Schwarz and Kale Vogt.

Projects include a walnut wall box, a key box, a German plate rack, a folk bookcase, a mailbox, a salt box, a spoon rack, a pipe box, a staked stool, a trug, a 6-board chest and the Love Birds cabinet.

The pocket book is 4" × 6.5" with 176 pages on acid-free paper, sewn and bound in heavy cloth-covered boards.
