The improved handles are waxed hornbeam with brass-plated ferrules. Hornbeam is dense and perfectly suited to hitting with a mallet. The blades are made from chrome manganese alloy at 59 Rockwell. Individual chisels are supplied with plastic edge protectors which double as hangers.
