The assembled platform is flat and stable, with sacrificial cross-rail supports that let you rip or crosscut without the blade contacting the surface beneath. You can work with confidence on any flat surface, indoors or out, and it is so stable you can kneel on the sheet while you cut, making it easier to follow your line.
Assembled using standard lumber you supply, the kit includes 12 resilient polypropylene brackets that are screwed to a pair of 1x3s to create the platform base; six 1x3s clip into the brackets as sacrificial cross-rails.
The platform takes less than a minute to set up and can be used over and over for hundreds of cuts. When you are done, it breaks down quickly and fits into the 4' nylon bag (the platform bases stick out).
