One way to make it sit without rocking is to place it on a flat surface, such as a table saw top, mark a consistent trimming line on each leg and cut to the line.
The scribe simplifies that step and gives a consistency hard to achieve with other leg-levelling methods. It ensures all legs are marked at the same height.
