Acorn sweep no. 11 bent gouge, 2 mm. The bent shank gives access to hollows and recesses. The cutting edge has been professionally sharpened and meticulously honed, and is razor sharp and ready for use.
Acorn tools have been made by Henry Taylor in Sheffield since 1834, combining traditional pride and skills with the aids of modern technology. Only the best quality Sheffield steel is used, coupled with advanced heat treatment, to ensure the finest of cutting edges is not only achieved but also maintained. Average steel hardness is Rc 60–62.
The blades are hand forged by the Acorn craftsmen, giving the correctly shaped blade with the best metallurgical qualities. If cared for properly, these tools will last a lifetime. Each blade features Henry Taylor's hallmark straw colour finish on the inside and a non-reflective black anvil finish on the outside. The round handles are turned from select beech and feature brass ferrules. Overall length is approximately 10".
