Beall wood threader kit for 1 1/4" threads, used with a router. Cutting threads with a router prevents the cross-grain breakage that can occur with a thread box. Easy to set up, it threads dowels or custom parts effectively and includes all you need to cut and tap threads.
The router clamps directly to the wood and aluminium table and is aligned with an included aluminium centring sleeve. A precision-machined low-friction threading insert gives accuracy without marking the wood.
Internal threads are cut with a three-flute combination tap designed to cut easily and cleanly. It has a removable pilot and taps a full thread to within 7/16" of the bottom of a hole, so no separate bottoming tap is needed. The socket-head screw holding the pilot is easily removed and refitted with the included wrench. A solid carbide three-flute 60° bit with 1/4" shank is included.
