All Tite-Marks come with an A2 Steel marking blade. That means it will take a very keen edge and be tough enough to hold it with minimal maintenance and normal use. Hone the flat side of it occasionally and it will last a long time. The blades can be damaged however, so having a spare blade around is not a bad idea.
