Lee Valley Make It Yourself project kit for a stool with a seat woven from Danish cord. The kit includes everything you need.
You first assemble a 12" × 18" × 17 1/2" high stool frame of ambrosia maple using loose tenons and glue, and finish it with a cream beeswax polish. You then learn to weave the top using Danish cord and L-shaped nails. The instructions show a classic two-strand warp and weft weave completed in three stages: the warp, the wrap and the weft.
The stool takes approximately 7 to 12 hours over three days, plus 24 hours for the glue to cure. Suitable for beginner to intermediate makers, 14 years and older. A step-by-step video and downloadable written instructions are available.
